This ignition kit is a great upgrade for the Springfield Prodigy.
This 1911 hammer is machined from carbon steel and is heat treated.
If you decide to apply an aftermarket coating to the hammer, which will void any warranty, consult your applicator first and make sure that the process is safe for heat treated components.
We have found that coatings that require heat can cause brittleness and we have seen examples of hydrogen embrittlement from hard chrome.

The accuracy of our 1911 hammer is impressive.
Using one hold to machine and ream the holes, mill the profile, cut reliefs and slice the hammer means that all these operations will be within .0005" for a true and square hammer.
The tank treads for cocking serrations look Heavy Duty and are functional without adding stress risers.
The slot through the top adds a distinctive looks and make the hammer lighter.

The 1911 is known for its ability to attain a crisp and light trigger pull with a little tuning, the 1911 sear is a critical component in achieving that.
Our 1911 sear is fully machined from proprietary US tool steel, then vacuum heat treated for the best possible combination of strength, wear-resistance and durability.
Our sears have a neutral geometry.
The primary face on our sear is set perpendicular to the axis from the sear pin.
For crisper 1911 trigger jobs that last longer, add an EGW 1911 Sear.

1911 HD Ball Head Long Disconnector

Our disconnector is machined taller so that it doesn't drag on the sear pin - this is important when you are doing trigger work under 2-1/4 lbs since you can feel the slightest drag.
We added the ball head to get rid of the "click" usually found on 1911s caused by the head moving back and forth in the frame hole - usually gunsmiths stake the frame hole trying to minimize the play in an attempt to remove this click.
The ball head is a better solution to this problem.
We also altered the geometry of the disconnector so that it is not tripped when inserting a loaded magazine.
This could cause an accidental discharge when reloading with a live round in the chamber.
This alteration allows for an additional safety upgrade in your 1911.
The bottom spade incorporates a small .006 corner radius so that the disconnector does not dig into the trigger bow and it improves functionality.
