Our one piece guide rod is the perfect replacement for the stock guide rod.
Our Colt Defender guide rod is a one piece design and is fully machined in the USA!
This kit reduces recoil and increases longevity of the spring system in blued .45 Colt Defenders and other similarly sized guns.
This guide rod kit is for 3" 1911s chambered in .45 ACP.
All systems use a 1/4" guide rod made from solid barstock with a take down hole.
This kit includes a guide rod, reverse plug, and ISMI flat recoil spring.
The reverse plug is blued Carbon Steel.
All kits are drop-in.
In independent testing, ISMI spring have endured in excess of 100,000 compression cycles.
We don’t recommend going that long between changes however.
With an ISMI spring, practice routine maintenance and change it once a year.

"The recoil rod back plate failed on my New Agent some years back and i shelved the pistol. I found this replacement. Drop in replacement as promised. the EGW recoil rod back plate (recoil plate?) is at least twice as thick as the colt original. the EGW spring is a single spring vs Colt original double spring set up. the EGW bushing is cut to closer match the barrel & close up the gap between upper and lower reciever. Have not put rounds through this yet. but dry fire functions check and cycle seems comparable to original. also no rubbing (so far) of the EGW bushing."
