Scalloped Grip Surface
The defining feature of this mainspring housing is its scalloped exterior pattern.
Rather than using traditional vertical serrations or checkering, the scalloped surface creates a series of machined contact areas across the rear of the grip.
This provides additional traction for the hand while maintaining a clean custom appearance.
The pattern is a strong option for shooters who want more grip than a completely smooth mainspring housing without using a conventional checkered design.
Machined From Solid Carbon Steel
This mainspring housing is fully machined from solid carbon steel bar stock.
For pistols originally equipped with a plastic mainspring housing, replacing it with a machined carbon steel component changes the feel at the rear of the grip and provides a solid metal replacement.
After machining, the carbon steel housing receives a blued finish for a traditional 1911 appearance.
Government & Commander 1911 Fitment
This mainspring housing is designed for standard Government and Commander-size 1911 frames.
It is not intended for STI-style frames or pistols using a short-grip frame configuration.
This product includes the mainspring housing only.
