Other manufacturers use sizing die dimensions, forcing you to full length resize when trimming.
For case forming and necking brass down from another caliber, Redding Trim Dies can be the perfect intermediate step before full length resizing.

"This is the 2nd die in line with Form die no. 1. It finishes out the neck and shoulder as a set up for full length sizing. 95% of the forming is done with Form die no. 1, so this die is very easy to use. Though it may not seem so at first, use of the extended shell holder is necessary. Be very careful that the shell holder is completely bottomed out on the bottom of the die or you won't get the necessary shape, making FL sizing much more difficult. It seems to work better if you run the case in firmly two or three times."
